ABOUT US

Our focus is on today and tomorrow.

We invite you to join the Long Beach Community Foundation, a dynamic new philanthropic service organization designed—just for Long Beach.

What We Do
We strive to administer our philanthropy locally. We work with individuals, foundations, advisors, nonprofits and businesses to build a long-lasting community endowment to help address critical, new and emerging needs in Greater Long Beach.

How We Do It
As stewards of many charitable endowments, we assist donors by facilitating their gifts, overseeing the management of the funds and administering their grants to the community. We also manage and administer our own Community Endowment Fund.

Our History
The Long Beach Community Foundation was founded in 1996 by the Estate Planning & Trust Council of Long Beach and an advisory board of local community leaders in collaboration with the California Community Foundation. In 2003, a grant to open an office in Long Beach was provided by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation.

After a decade of growth and commitment, we are proud to announce effective July 1, 2007, we are operating as an independent and separate 501(c) (3) public-benefit charity exclusively representing Greater Long Beach.
