B of A Emergency Grants for Healthcare Services

Bank of America Charitable Foundation believes in giving back to the community, and their involvement in Long Beach is no exception. They partnered with the Long Beach Community Foundation in 2010 to provide general operating support for nonprofits providing healthcare services to meet the needs of rising patient caseloads during these challenging economic times.

The first group of recipients of the grants offered to nonprofit healthcare providers along the Atlantic Avenue corridor were announced on June 16, 2010:  Children's Dental Health Clinic, For The Child, Long Beach Alliance for Children with Asthma, Pacific Asian Counseling Services, The Children's Clinic, and The Guidance Center. These providers collectively address general health, dental, emotional, and mental health needs of adults and children.

The second group of recipients represented nonprofit healthcare providers from throughout Long Beach and were announced on October 27, 2010:  Assistance League of Long Beach orthodontic care program, Constellation Community Middle School counseling program in collaboration with Jewish Family and Children's Services, Goodwill Southern LA County healthcare training program, Wells House Hospice Foundation, and Westide Neighborhood Clinic. From training future healthcare workers to addressing end-of-life care, these grants will make an impact on the health needs of our community.
