Asset Growth 1996-2006
Fund Management and Investment The Long Beach Community Foundation funds are guided by some of the country’s top advisors. A majority of funds are pooled and invested by the California Community Foundation whose assets exceed $1 billion. Low investment fees, exceptional performance and vigilant oversight provide a rate of return on long-term investments that has averaged 12% per annum over the past 25 years.Annual distributions from income and capital appreciation – about 5% -- are reinvested in local nonprofit organizations. Total Community Foundation expenses are about 1.5%, therefore the excess adds to compounded annual growth. The investment services of Farmers & Merchants Trust Company are used for specific funds in a similar arrangement. |
